It’s the same information allowed for other SEPTA-related projects, such as Is SEPTA Fucked? by technologist Doug Muth. The app pulls real-time information and public transit schedules from SEPTA’s public API. The app’s framework uses WidgetKit and is written in Swift. Popp previously worked in video production for about a decade (you can check out some of his work), but about a year ago he decided it was time for a change and started teaching himself software development. “And it’s also something I keep showing them - ‘oh, it’s only six minutes, we better get out the door.'” “It’s just a fun thing that I wanted to do very quickly to know for myself how many minutes we have before the next bus is scheduled to arrive,” he told Technical.ly. Popp said he takes his kids on the bus every day and always tries to get them out the door. ![]() Next To Arrive is available for free on the Apple App Store for all iPhone users. The app is also available as a widget if you want this information to be clearly displayed on your home screen. Software developer Cory Popp is behind Next to Arrive, a simplified mobile app that tells you how many minutes it will take for your bus to arrive. While a solution to SEPTA’s odd schedules and delays has yet to be developed, an app developed by a fellow Philadelphia resident could make your commute a little less painful. Have you ever spent what feels like a million years waiting for the bus? ![]()
